After having done a number of studies of cats of the more domestic variety, I wanted to try my hand at applying my Argent Park techniques to a big cat, as well as using the design possibilities inherent in this approach to explore the interrelationship of the big wild cats to their household brethren. To do this, I've made the swirling lines of their bodies flow into and around each other, as the smaller cat seems to be both a part of, and moving out from, the larger profile of the tiger above it. While we can invite them into our homes and let them curl up contently in our laps, I'm always aware by their still independent nature that those balls of purring fur are only slightly removed from their larger cousins, and it is only through their choice, not ours, that they remain to grace us with their presence. (At least, that's what my cat told me!)

This is a limited-edition print, each copy signed & numbered by the artist. It is created from a film negative made directly from the original artwork, then retouched by the artist, and printed by offset lithography on Starwhite paper stock. Mounting and matting materials are either low-acid or acid-free. To maintain the quality of this work, do not display it where it will be exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods, or to extremes of temperature or humidity. I also recommend that you look at it once it is up on your wall (at least six times a week is considered the minimum), or else it will get sad and lonely, and the tear-stains will make it look less attractive.
