A Few Awards & Honors
Along the Way....
(My two CWA awards, appropriately displayed.) |
First, a few words of false modesty. |
| I've always told people that I draw first and foremost because I like to draw. The fact that I manage to make my living from that is a huge bonus. One of my favorite "I'm really only in this for the creativity" stories is how, if a bizarre law was passed saying that ten seconds after a work of art was completed, it had to be destroyed, I would still be drawing, though clearly I'd need to find a new way to pay my bills. The process of drawing, of making marks on paper, is incredibly satisfying and enjoyable. Of course, I'm not immune to also enjoying it when other people like my work as well. It took me years to learn the best response to things like "I love your work!" is not a mumbled reply of false modesty, but a simple "Thank you." And over the years, I've had more tangible signs that I am not the only one who likes the results of my scribbling. Some of those are listed here. To all who sent these my way, thanks very much, I'll try to keep on making new stuff for ya! |
